Powering a Smarter Future: 18.5kW Solar & Battery Solution in Waitetuna

In Waitetuna, we’ve completed a high-capacity residential solar and battery installation, combining a 18.525kW solar PV array with a powerful 15kW three-phase hybrid inverter and four 48V battery units. The system has been designed to maximise solar generation, improve energy utilisation and provide reliable battery storage for greater energy independence.

Powering the roof are 39 × 475W solar panels, delivering a total PV capacity of 18.525kW. The large solar array is designed to capture more clean energy throughout the day, helping the homeowner reduce reliance on grid electricity while making better use of available solar generation.

At the heart of the system is a Deye SUN-15K-SG05LP3 three-phase hybrid inverter, providing intelligent management of solar generation, household energy consumption and battery storage. The hybrid platform enables efficient energy flow between the solar array, home and batteries, helping the system make the most of every unit of clean energy generated.

For energy storage, the installation includes 4 × BTL-48V290 battery units, providing additional storage capacity to capture excess solar energy generated during the day and make it available when solar production is lower.

From solar generation and intelligent energy management to battery storage, this Waitetuna installation delivers a complete solution designed for greater energy efficiency, reduced grid dependence and long-term energy resilience.
