Description
This package pairs the MICROMALL 12.8V 55Ah Essential LiFePO4 deep-cycle battery with a matched MICROMALL 4S Battery Protector. It is designed for customers who want dependable stored energy together with an additional layer of cell balancing and battery protection.
Why the Battery Protector is included
LiFePO4 packs contain multiple cells connected in series. Over time, small differences between cell voltages can become more noticeable, particularly in batteries that are charged and discharged frequently. The matched 4S protector monitors the correct series configuration and actively discharges higher-voltage cells when balancing conditions are reached.
This helps keep the cells closer together in voltage, supports more consistent charging and discharging, and helps the battery use its available capacity more evenly. The protector also provides overcharge, over-discharge, over-current and short-circuit protection. It does not increase the battery's rated capacity and does not replace correct charging equipment or professional installation.

How to install the Battery Protector
Important: The protector requires correct cell-level wiring and must match the battery's 4S configuration. Incorrect wiring, a skipped connection or reverse polarity can permanently damage the protector or battery and may create a fire hazard. Installation should be completed by a person familiar with series-connected LiFePO4 batteries.
- Isolate the battery: Switch off and disconnect all chargers, inverters, loads and other equipment from the battery before starting.
- Confirm compatibility: Verify that the battery is LiFePO4 and uses a 4S series configuration. Do not install the 4S protector on a battery with a different cell count or chemistry.
- Identify the connection points: Locate the battery's main negative terminal, each cell-to-cell positive junction and the main positive terminal. Cell numbering starts from the main negative end of the pack.
- Connect in order: Attach the supplied harness to the battery connection points in this exact sequence: B-, B1, B2, B3 and B+. Do not skip, swap or reverse any connection.
- Inspect the wiring: Confirm that every connection is secure, correctly insulated and connected to the intended point before the harness is fully connected to the protector.
- Verify with a multimeter: Measure the battery output after wiring. The reading should be close to the total pack voltage. If the reading is unexpected, disconnect the harness and recheck the wiring.
- Test the system: Connect a compatible charger or load only after all wiring and voltage checks have passed. During the first test, monitor the battery and protector for abnormal heat, smell or behaviour.

Safe operation
- Use a compatible LiFePO4 charger.
- Do not reverse polarity or exceed the stated current ratings.
- Install and operate the equipment in a dry, well-ventilated location.
- Stop using the battery immediately if it shows abnormal heat, swelling or other signs of a fault.
- Professional installation is recommended where access to individual cell connections is required.

10-year New Zealand local warranty on the included battery. Warranty coverage for each package component remains subject to the applicable product warranty terms.
